This is my reflection of a 3-day workshop on Trajectory 2: Learning, organized by the Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International).
The Background of the Trajectory 2 (T2) Program: Learning
T2 stands for Trajectory 2. The idea was mooted by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faizal Rafiq. As far as a learning experience is concerned, Trajectory 1 (T1) is the prevailing system with the existing academic programs whereby achieving high graduate employability is the primary aim.
In the essence, T1 is a trajectory for employability and career. The program curriculum is largely content-centric and designed to provide as much content knowledge as possible.
Despite a continuing effort to encourage a student-centred learning approach, most classes are still lecture-based because the aim is to cover the syllabus in 14 weeks rather than empowering the students to ‘uncover’ the content and learn through discovery. As a result, there is…
